Objectives: At the completion of this course, the participants will:
Gain knowledge about improving areas of perioperative care for vascular surgical patients; including prevention of myocardial infarction, reducing infectious complications with oxygen therapy and normalizing diabetic control, prevention of renal insufficiency from endovascular and operative procedures, and reviewing the evidence for proper wound management and anticoagulation.
Discover new potential algorythms to use for prevention of complications through improved perioperative care of vascular surgical patients.
Have a better appreciation for what types of patients the aforementioned therapies are best indicated.
Develop and understanding of short and long term implications of applying these new therapies.
